What is Proposition 65?

Proposition 65 requires the state of California to maintain a list of chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects, or reproductive harm. This list, which is updated annually, contains over 900 substances, including many found in everyday products such as electronics, household items, and sporting goods.

Why Do We Include a Proposition 65 Warning?

Some products sold by D3 Diving, including Suex Diver Propulsion Vehicles (DPVs) and related diving equipment, may contain trace amounts of chemicals listed under Proposition 65. These chemicals may be present in materials such as rubber, plastics, and electronic components. While these substances are generally safe when used as intended, California law requires a warning if exposure to even a tiny amount of a listed chemical could pose a risk.

What Does the Warning Mean?

A Proposition 65 warning does not necessarily indicate that a product is unsafe. Instead, it serves as a notification of potential exposure to substances that may require labeling under California law. The warning is based on the highest level of exposure an average user might encounter, which may differ from actual exposure levels experienced during typical product use.
