Suex Stories (EP 24)- TAMATAROA

In the Tuamotu Islands in French Polynesia, the SUEX DPVs participated in the Tamataroa project mission, not only as exploration tools but as crucial allies in scientific research. This mission focused on saving Tamataroa, the great hammerhead shark, a regal species at the top of the food chain and crucial to the balance of the oceans, now threatened with extinction.

During the expedition, coordinated by the Mokarran Protection Society and the Gombessa expedition, the SUEX DPVs were used to transport equipment for tagging and DNA collection, and to approach the sharks, even if they proved to be very shy.

Thanks to SUEX technology, researchers were able to continue to monitor and study the ecology of these majestic predators without disturbing the delicate balance of marine life.

Thanks to our DPVs, every dive has become a step towards understanding and conserving these timeless creatures. The new episode of SUEX stories is not just a story: it is testimony that passion and science can, together, make a difference for the future of our planet.
