In the heart of the Mediterranean, offshore Greece, the Under The Pole team discovered something extraordinary: an intact marine forest between 80 and 100 meters deep. A vibrant and fragile ecosystem, populated by sponges, gorgonians, black corals and a surprising variety of marine life.
Operating at these depths is a constant challenge: strong currents, reduced visibility, distance from the coast. But thanks to SUEX’s advanced technology and the DRIVe underwater navigation system, the team is able to orient themselves precisely, collect data and work safely even in the most extreme conditions.
After a 10-day scientific workshop dedicated to fine-tuning the first dives, the team began experimenting with new protocols and refining existing ones, with the aim of increasing the efficiency of deep-water exploration.
Thanks to rigorous scientific protocols, it is possible to analyse the ecosystem as a whole, to understand it in depth and thus contribute to its protection.
